Director KV Anand’s body not handed over to family as he tests COVID +ve
Chennai: Director-cinematographer KV Anand who passed away in the wee hours of Friday has tested positive for COVID-19. He breathed his last following a heart attack.
As he turned COVID positive, the authority refused to hand over his body to the family. His body was cremated as per COVID protocol at Besant Nagar crematorium in Chennai. His family members were allowed to pay homage before cremation.
Two weeks ago, KV Anand’s wife and daughter had tested positive for COVID-19. His whole family was under quarantine.
As he suffered breathing issues and chest pain, he drove himself to the hospital without seeking anyone’s assistance. The doctors assumed that the director suffered a heart attack due to the complications from COVID infection.
