Chithra sponsors chemo therapy ward in memory of daughter Nandana
Popular playback singer KS Chithra who is known as nightingale of Kerala is the favourite one for all. In memory of her only daughter Nandana, she sponsored a chemo therapy ward at Parumala St. Gregorios international cancer care centre.
The singer arrived here for the inauguration of the ward established as a memorial for Nandana. While addressing the function, she became emotional. When she started to lose words, she concluded the speech with a song. With grief, she sung a devotional song starting ‘Paithalam Yeshuve’.
Later, she wished happy Christmas to all.
Nandana, daughter of Chithra and Vijay Shankar was born in 2002 after 8 years of marriage. Eight-year-old Nandana passed away drowning in a swimming pool in Dubai in 2011.
Parumala St. Gregorios international cancer care centre opened a new ward in connection with the second anniversary of ‘Snehasparsham’ project. The project aims to give financial assistance to cancer patients belonging to poor economic background.
