CBI raids actress Leena Maria Paul’s beauty parlour in Kochi
Kochi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted raid at the beauty parlour owned by actress Leena Maria Paul. The raid was based on the complaint of an attempt to swindle money from Hyderabad-based businessman Sambasiva Rao.
Apart from the beauty parlour in Kochi, Leena’s house in Chennai was also raided. The CBI said Leena and her husband have connections with both the accused in the case. The raid started on Thursday morning and lasted till 2 in the afternoon.
Sambasiva Rao is a businessman whom CBI has named accused in a bank fraud case. Two persons had tried to swindle money from him pretending as CBI officers. They were identified as Hyderabad native Manivarna Reddy and Madurai native Selvam Ramarajan.
They offered Sambasiva Rao help in the case. CBI found out that Manivarna Reddy and Selvam Ramarajan have connection with Leena and her husband Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Earlier, Sukesh was arrested in connection with another bank fraud case.
In 2018, a shooting incident occurred at the beauty parlour and international criminal Ravi Poojari was involved in the case. Ravi Poojari and gang attacked the beauty parlour as he was informed that Leena had some illegal money with her.
