Kochi: Antony Perumbavoor has been elected the president of Film Exhibitors United organisation of Kerala (FEUOK), the newly formed forum of exhibitors.

The decision was taken at the FEUOK executive committee meeting held on Wednesday.

He replaces actor Dileep, who was arrested in connection with the actress attack and abduction case.

Till date, Antony was occupying the vice-president’s post.

It may be noted that Dileep had formed FEOUK following disputes within the Cine Exhibitors Association.

Dileep became a member of the outfit in his capacity as the owner of D Cimenas, a multiplex in Chalakudy.

“Though Dileep has been removed as the president of FEUOK, he still remains a member of the organisation,” Antony told media persons after the meeting.

“There exists no hindrance for the release of Dileep-starrer Ramaleela. However, the producers of the movie are yet to approach FEUOK. If they seek our help, they will be provided necessary assistance,” Antony said.

The FEUOK was formed in January this year following the month-long strike by theatre owners.
