Actress Anjali Ameer faces acid attack threat
Kozhikode: ‘Peranbu’ fame actress Anjali Ameer, a transwoman, has been facing acid attack threat from her boyfriend Anas VC. The actress opened up about the threat on Facebook live. On Tuesday, she filed a complaint with the police commissioner.
She has been in a living-in together relationship with Anas from Koduvally in Kozhikode. She noted that though she was not comfortable with him, she decided to live with him. But when Anjali decided to break up, he issued death threat and acid attack threat.
“Earlier, in a Facebook post, I revealed that I have been facing acid attack threat. The man with whom I was in a living together relationship has been threatening me frequently. I was forced to live with him under certain circumstances. He threatened me that If I am not ready to live with him, he will pour acid on my face,” said Anjali on Facbook live video.
The actress also asserted that if she faces any problem in future, the man will be responsible for it.
“He has to pay around Rs 4 lakh to me. Though, I was not mentally attached to him, we were living in the same house. He has been enjoying his life with my income. He used to drop me in college and wait for me on the premises of the college. only to monitor my activities,” said Anjali in the video.
She alleged that the man, who is unemployed, has been living on her income.
“From the last one and half years, I have been telling him that I am not in love with him. But he is not ready to leave me. As my family members are not with me, he is taking advantage of it. I am almost on the verge of suicide. He has been torturing me,” added Anjali.
Anjali also revealed the family details of the person named Anas VC.
She broke down while explaining her condition. “ I am not interested to reveal my personal matters on social media. But I am forced to took to Facebook live as I am helpless,” said Anjali.
Anjali who is currently pursuing degree at Malabar Christian College in Kozhikode is known as India’s first transgender actress. On the work front, she will play lead role in her own biopic which will start rolling from 2020.
