Actor Suriya takes 100 kids on their first flight
Chennai: Kollywood star Suriya is busy with the promotion of his upcoming movie ‘Soorai Pottru’. The actor, who is popular for his social work initiatives, opted a unique way for the promotion of his movie. He took 100 kids from government schools on their first flight.
An aircraft of SpiceJet specially branded for ‘Soorai Pottru’ movie took the kids for the ride. Actor Suriya, music director GV Prakash and others who are associated with the movie also travelled with the children.
The flight took off from Chennai airport at 1.30 pm on Thursday. The kids were excited to have their dream journey on a flight. The students who are from poor family thanked Suriya for making their dream come true.

A song from the movie starting ‘Veyyon Silli’ was launched during the air trip. It is for the first time; a movie song is launched in mid-air.

Suriya is playing the role of a pilot named Nedumaran Rajangam in ‘Soorai Pottru’. Based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath, founder of the budget airline Air Deccan, the film is directed by Sudha K Prasad. ‘Soorai Pottru’ is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Bollywood producer Guneet Monga.
