Actor Maya Menon has responded to Rima Kallingal’s comment on Thrissur Pooram that women should also become part of the fest just like men. Maya Menon replied to Rima’s statements on her Facebook page. Maya said that she cannot bear the foolishness spoken by Rima even though Rima is her colleague.
Maya has mentioned in the post that Rima wouldn’t have said this stupid statements if she was a real native of Thrissur. She added that no one has restricted women to enter Thrissur Pooram.

“Even though she is my colleague, I cannot stand such foolishness. You wouldn’t have said this if you were a real native of Thrissur. Both men and women come to Thrissur Pooram. The women who don’t go there might have personal reasons. No one is restricting women from there. Your statements also prove that you have never gone there…!”
Maya Menon who has become popular through the movies like ‘Aby’, ‘Maayanadi’ and ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’ is also a model and dancer.
Rima had said that Thrissur Pooram is only for men. She had also pointed out that both men and women are attending the festivals in foreign countries. She said that we should also follow them and what is the meaning of these festivals if there is no gender equality. Trolls and social media abuse had followed after she gave the comments.
