Actor Manikandan Achari enters wedlock, see pics
Amid the coronavirus outbreak and lockdown, Kammattipadam fame actor Manikandan Achari tied the knot with Maradu native Anjali at a temple in Tripunithura on Sunday. Preferring a simple wedding amid the COVID-19 outbreak, the actor donated money reserved for the grand wedding to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.
The couple arrived at the temple following the COVID-19 protocol. The couple and their relatives also wore mask as a preventive measure.
Among those who took part in the function included local CPI-M Legislator M. Swaraj who collected Manikandan's contribution that was kept aside for conducting the marriage to the CM Covid Relief Fund.
"The date of the marriage was fixed long back and we decided that there was no need to change the date. It's not right to celebrate when the world is suffering. After all celebrations can be held anytime," said the actor who shot into fame in his debut film itself.
"The decision not to postpone the marriage was taken by all. We are happy now," said Anjali.
Mollywood actress Sneha Sreekumar took to her Facebook and greeted the couple. She also shared a few pics from the wedding.
Sneha noted that she wanted to attend the wedding but due to the lockdown she is unable to move from Thiruvananthapuram.
Manikandan and Anjali were in a relationship for more than a year. It was during a temple festival, the couple met for the first time. Manikandan told that Anjali accepted his love when he confessed to her.
Their engagement was held at a private function six months ago.
Manikandan Achari made his film debut with Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘Kammattipadam’ which was released in 2016. He was last seen in Mammootty starrer ‘Mamangam’.
