Actor Kalasala Babu passes away
Kochi: Noted film actor Kalasala Babu passed away due to cerebral hemorrhage. He was 68. The death came on Sunday night at Ernakulam Medical Trust Hospital. He has been under treatment for heart ailment for the past three months.
He started his career in drama and later switched to serial industry and then reached cinema. He had acted in more than 50 films, including Two Countries, Runway, Balettan, Kasthuriman, Perunmazhakkalam, Thuruppu Gulan, Pachakkuthira, Chess, Pokkiriraja and Mallu Singh.
He was the son of renowned Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Krishnan Nair and Mohiniyattam dancer Kalyanikkutty Amma. He is survived by his wife Lalitha and children Sreeedevi (America) and Viswanathan (Ireland). He was residing at Royal Gardens near SN Junction in Tripunithura. His siblings are Sreedevi Rajan (Nrithakshetra, Ernakulam), Kala Vijayan (Kerala Kalalaya, Tripunithura), Ashok Kumar, Sreekumar and Sasikumar.
