Actor Jayaram leads ‘Pavizhamallithara Melam’ in Chottanikkara temple
When Chottanikkara temple was decked up for the Durgashtami day celebrations, percussion lovers thronged the temple to witness the grand percussion led by a celebrity. Actor Jayaram who is a percussionist was the celebrity among the artists.
He was seen proudly leading the percussion ensemble of 141 artists for the ‘Pavizhamallithara Melam’. Over hundreds of percussion lovers including women and children arrived here to enjoy the melam.
The percussion which started with ‘Panchari melam’ continued for 3 hours.
‘Pavizhamallithara Melam’ held in connection with Navaratri celebrations at Chottanikkara temple is very special for Jayaram. It is for the 6th time, the actor is performing here.
“I got the opportunity to perform here with the blessings of the ‘Bhagavathi’ (Goddess). People started to celebrate ‘Pavizhamallithara Melam’. I am really happy to know that percussion lovers from distant places are arriving here to witness the melam,” said Jayaram.
Percussion artists Sathyan Marar and Aanikkad Krishnakumar Marar also joined the actor for the melam.
