IFFK Special: Good cinema never gets old, Chinese filmmaker Xie Fei
Eminent Chinese filmmaker Xie Fei expressed pleasure on being able to take part in the International Film Festival of Kerala 2019. Xie is part of the Chinese delegation that has come for the festival as the country in focus for this year's festival is China.
Talking to Mathrubhumi.com, the director appreciated the quality of movies that were screened at IFFK. He said that since there were a lot of good films, he is eagerly waiting for the concluding ceremony to see which film would bag the top prize this year.
The veteran director was also one of the speakers in a seminar organised by IFFK on 'Modern Chinese film and film restoration technology'.
Two of his films, 'A Mongolian Tale' and 'A Girl from Hunan' were screened at the festival this year. Speaking about this, the director of 'Black snow' claimed that he received a very warm response from Kerala audience after the screening and that good movies never get old.
Although he was not able to watch many movies at the festival, Xie Fei picked South Korean movie 'Parasite' and Chinese film 'Balloon' as his favourite movies of the year.
