As Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ continues its successful run in theatres winning hearts, the film’s lead actor Mammootty opens up about his shooting experiences in a special interview with 'Mathrubhumi'.
Recalling how it all began, Mammootty said, “Lijo and I have talked about several stories. Of which, this (‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’) is the one I felt like doing immediately. The movie tells the story of what happens to Malayalis in Tamil Nadu. The story came to my mind, that’s why I did it.”
“Stardom is not something you achieve overnight. It is a situation that occurs as you act and viewers' love for you goes up. As for me, I never crush or disappoint the actor in me. I do everything possible for the actor in me and never miss any opportunity to do so,” he said.
“I don’t think the character in this movie can be compared with the role of Balan in ‘Thaniyavarthanam’ or Vidyadharan in ‘Bhoothakkannadi’. I would have been ready to act in this movie even if I didn’t get any remuneration. I’m the happiest when I do this job,” said the actor.
