Actress Samvritha Sunil who won hearts of Malayali audience with a number of movies, has made her comeback after a gap of 6 years. She is seen in the lead role in Biju Menon starrer Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuo.
In an interview with Mathrubhumi, she talked about her comeback to the industry.
The movie’s director Prajith insisted that Geetha’s role must be played by an actress who looks like a typical Kerala girl.
“We need a heroine like Samvritha,” Prajith said while discussing who would be the heroine. Replying to him, Biju Menon confidently suggested to approach Samvritha herself with the offer.
But the director was confused as Samvritha was settled in US. Without wasting a minute, Biju Menon phoned Samvritha and she accepted the offer. He also assured her all arrangements including her son’s caretaking when she arrives in Kerala.
Finally, Samvritha made her comeback to mollywood as Geetha in ‘Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuo’.
“I got offer to three movies when I moved to US after marriage. But I was too busy with my personal life. I got this movie’s offer when we were planning to visit here for holidays. The filmmakers promised that the shooting will be completed within the period of holidays,” said Samvritha while talking about accepting the offer.
She also listed the elements which influenced her to commit the project.
“This is the second movie of Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum fame script writer Sajeev Pazhoor. G Prajith who directed ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ is the director of the movie. I got an offer to share screen space with Biju Menon for the first time. These are some reasons which made me to commit the project,” said Samvritha.
Samvritha is playing the role of Geetha, a typical rural woman, is the wife of Biju Menon’s character Suni.
“I have seen many housewives like Geetha since my childhood. So it was easy for me to relate to my character. I tried my best to act naturally. Hence, no makeup was used in the movie. I found all this as a self-improvement,” Samvritha explained her experience.
‘Sathyam Paranja Viswasikkuo’ portrays the life of poor construction workers in rural areas. Shooting of the movie was done at Vadakara and Mahe.
“Director and producer have made many arrangements for me. They have given special consideration to me as I was accompanied by my little one,” the actress said.
“I was excited when I was back in the industry after 6 years. I felt the happiness like I am returning to my home,” she added.
Responding about her plans to continue acting, she stated that she will act if she gets offer for good character in a movie with interesting story.
“When I was active in the industry, I have done 6 movies in a year. But after marriage, life changed a lot. I have to look after my husband and son Agasthya. So I can’t commit all projects,” Samvritha noted.
