National Anthem should not be insulted or imposed: Sathyan Anthikad
Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to the row over National Anthem at the IFFK, veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad said Tuesday that the National Anthem cannot be imposed on anyone and should not be a subject of insult.
“I am a person who is proud of being an Indian and the National Anthem should be respected. I have no clear idea of what happened here yesterday,” he said.
“It is the Supreme Court’s order that National Anthem be played before every show. It should be followed. In spite of creating controversy, the authorities should arrive at a rational decision by collecting public opinion, he added.
