Gold price hits Rs 42,000 per sovereign
Gold price has hit the Rs 42,000 mark in Kerala on Friday after a surge of Rs 480. The precious yellow metal was priced at Rs 41,520 per sovereign on Thursday after reporting an increase twice in the day.
One gram of gold is priced at Rs 5,250. This means that there has been an increase of Rs 1,840 per sovereign of gold in the month of August alone. In the national market, there has been an increase of Rs 1,000. Currently, 10 gram of pure gold is priced at Rs 56,143.
The price of an ounce of spot gold has reached a record high of 2,068.32 dollars in the international market. Although it had reached 2,072.50 dollars at one point of time, there was a slight reduction.
