Air India to operate Jumbo service from December 25 on Kozhikode-Jeddah route
Kozhikode: Air India will operate Boeing 747-400 jumbo jet on Jeddah-Kozhikode route from December 25. The flight will depart from Jeddah at 11.05 pm on December 24 and arrive at Kozhikode by 7.30 am on December 25. According to reports, the booking for the jumbo jet will be open from next week.
Air India has taken the action following Mathrubhumi’s report on delay in Jeddah service from Kozhikode.
The jumbo jet will fly to Kozhikode from Delhi and depart to Jeddah after taking passengers from Delhi. Air India is trying to use Jumbo jet which is operating service to European countries to resume service on Kozhikode-Jeddah route.
By operating jumbo jet on the stretch of Kozhikode-Delhi-Jeddah, Air India aims to save a huge amount as parking charge.
The flight will land at Delhi airport at 11 am and arrive Kozhikode by 5.00 pm with passengers to Jeddah and Kozhikode from Delhi. Then the flight will leave to Jeddah at 6.30 pm.
With this service, Air India will be able to operate a non-stop service on Delhi-Kozhikode route. At present, only Air India operates a non-stop service in this route.
