100% FDI in insurance intermediaries, says Finance Minister
New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed that India's FDI flow has grown 6 percent to $64.37 bn. She was presenting the union budget in Lok Sabha here on Friday.
She noted that FDI inflows have remained robust despite global headwinds. India's FDI inflows remained strong despite global slippages.
“100 percent FDI will be permitted for insurance intermediary”, added the minister.
Apart from insurance intermediaries, Govt will liberalise FDI in aviation, media and animation.
“Govt will invite suggestions for further opening up of FDI in aviation sector, media, animation AVGC and insurance sectors in consultation with all stakeholders. 100% FDI will be permitted for insurance intermediaries.
