Mohanlal, Priyadarshan, Sreenivasan and Sathyan Anthikad to be present at MBIFL
For the past four decades, Keralites have looked at Mohanlal with love and affection. It is hard for a Malayalee to think of Kerala’s culture leaving out Mohanlal. He has managed to transcend the boundaries of different generations and continues with his journey through different characters. Mohanlal will attend Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters and speak about the 10 most important characters of his career.
Priyadarshan movies are part of the soul of Malayalees. After his successful career in Malayalam, he moved to Hindi cinema and enjoyed success there. Priyadarshan will attend MBIFL on February 2 for the session on his time and the changing atmosphere in cinema.
There may not have been many who observed Malayalee and their lives as much as Sathyan Anthikad and Sreenivasan. They have been holding a mirror in front of us for the past half a century. They will attend the session ‘Golanthara Keralam’ on the third day of the festival. They will share their thoughts on Kerala in and outside cinema. The session will be moderated by script writer Benny P Nayarambalam.
Cyber-attacks against independent medias have reached its peak. Hameed Chedamangalur, Joseph C Mathew, RS Babu, Hari S Kartha will take part in the session. The session will be moderated by Mathrubhumi editor Manoj K Das.
Travelogues are still being written in all its richness and people continue to travel extensively. Santhosh George Kulangara, Roby Das and Balan Madhavan will attend the session. It will be moderated by OK Johny.
Religious symbols are finding its way into the story. ‘Malicious glance in stories’ is a session on story writing that will be attended by Madhupal, K Rekha, Francis Norona, E Santhosh Kumar.
India has been shaped by its wars. Historian Manu S Pillai, Sudeep Chakravarthy and Salil Mishra will speak on this topic.
Censoring has been made compulsory for films that we watch in a theatre. However, there is no such thing for a TV serial. Former director of Doordarshan, director KK Rajeev and psychologist CJ John will take part in the discussion on this topic, moderated by Sreeparvathy.
R Rajashree, Jose Annamkutty Jose, NP Suraj, will share their thoughts on the session that examines the growing trend in ‘Facebook Literature’. The session will be moderated by M Chandra Prakash.
Perumal Murugan will speak on the subject ‘Amma- a personal journey’.
MN Karasserry will interact with MV Nikesh Kumar on the subject, ‘Mob and authority’.
