A native of Alappuzha, Anitha Thampi’s literary works are noted for post-modernism. Her first poetry collection Muttamadikkumbol was published in 2004. Her works have been translated into English, French, German, Swedish as well as various Indian languages.
Anitha’s contribution to literature as a translator is also notable. She has translated the works of Australian poet Les Murray and Palestinian writer and poet Mourid Barghouti. Her major works include Azhakillathavayellam, Alappuzha Vellam, Muttamadikkumbol and the translated work Ramalla Njan Kandu.
