A well-known conservation architect, Gurmeet Rai established CRCI in 1996. CRCI has prepared cultural heritage conservation and management plans for over 50 significant heritage sites (including world heritage sites of Red Fort, New Delhi; Ellora Cave, Maharashtra) for governments, private, bilateral and multi lateral agencies. Gurmeet was awarded award of distinction by UNESCO for two projects under the Asia Pacific Architectural Heritage Awards in the year 2002 and 2004. She is currently the Vice President of ICOMOS India and an expert voting member on the International Scientific Committee on Cultural Tourism. CRCI has recently undertaken international assignments in heritage sector in Nepal and Myannmar and is currently engaged in several heritage conservation and development initiatives in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
