Dileep Premachandran, well known cricket writer, started work at The Free Press Journal in Mumbai on the eve of a historic home series against Pakistan in 1999. He went on to work for Cricket Talk magazine and Wisden.com before spending a decade at Cricinfo as associate editor. He was Asian sports correspondent for The Sunday Times and The Guardian before a five-year stint as the first editor-in-chief of Wisden India. He has done radio commentary for the BBC in the UK, the ABC in Australia, and SABC in South Africa, in addition to TV appearances for Al Jazeera. He has seen close at hand the Indian cricket’s golden generation – its greatest triumphs, heartbreaks and stories behind the scenes.
