Mangaluru lab technician shows suspected Nipah symptoms; Keralite in contact list
Mangaluru: A lab technician from Mangaluru reported to the health authorities of suspected symptoms of Nipah infection.
Sending his sample to the Pune NIV for testing, the health authorities said that he has mild fever and does not show other symptoms of Nipah. It is very unlikely that he may be Nipah affected, the authorities said.
Meanwhile, his contact list includes a Malayali too.
Amid reports of the Nipah virus in Kerala, the Deputy Commissioner of Karnataka's Dakshina Kannada district issued an advisory earlier this month to avoid travelling to Kerala.
