Little doctors to take care of students' health in schools
Mallappally: Parents and students get a solace that a new force of little doctors will take care of student’s health issues in schools. The little doctors in school will rush to assist any student who get injured on playground or feel dizzy in classrooms.
Student doctor cadet is a new scheme formed and implemented by health department under the Mallappally taluk. They were given basic training in disease prevention and awareness of cleanliness at the taluk hospital.
The new doctor cadet will take leadership in destroying the source of mosquitoes that spread dengue fever and to create awareness in disease prevention at houses.
Student doctor cadet was formed with the intention to create scientific awareness about health care, medical science and make them capable of helping others in need. Besides, it also aims to fight sexual exploitation against children, create social responsibility, personal hygiene and public cleanliness.
The new mission will be implemented in all schools under the taluk with the help of block panchayats, said hospital superintendent Dr Saneesh P Joy. Eight students who got special training in the initial phase were provided with uniforms and first aid kits.
