Children from outside Kerala will not get free treatment at Sree Chitra Institute under RBSK scheme
Thiruvananthapuram: From Wednesday, children from outside the state will not be able to get free treatment at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology hospital here under the RBSK scheme.
Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) is an initiative by the Centre aiming at early identification and intervention for children from birth to 18 years to cover 4 'D's viz. Defects at birth, Deficiencies, Diseases, Development delays including disability.
Apart from selected heart diseases, children belonging to families of Above Poverty Line (APL) ration cards also should pay for the treatment.
Also, the free OP consultancy under RBSK will be stopped from Wednesday.
The stoppage of the services comes after an agreement signed between National Health Mission under state government and SCTIMST.
