Rice is a staple dish in India and there are several varieties worth trying. Mint rice is one such dish that is easy to prepare. Moreover, it can be enjoyed on its own and goes well with vegetarian or non-veg side dishes.
In a deep pan, heat up butter and sauté cloves, cardamom and cinnamon. Once the spices start giving out their aroma, add the onions and fry them until golden brown. Then add the ginger garlic paste, mint leaves, green chilli and grated coconut. Once the ingredients soften, add the biriyani rice. Add three-and-a-quarter cups of water and salt. Cook on medium heat with the lid on until the rice is ready.
