Spice up your day with masala rice
Rice is a staple diet in south India. Those looking for something different will have to search for the Chinese fried rice or go for southern varieties like tomato, mint or lemon rice. Here is another way: masala rice.
- Butter: 1 tablespoon
- Capsicum: Half each of a red, green and yellow capsicum (finely cubed)
- Black pepper powder: 1 tablespoon
- Chicken cubes: 4 nos
- Basmati rice: 2 cups
- Salt: As per taste
Melt butter in a pressure cooker and add capsicum. Once capsicum turns soft, throw in the chicken cubes. Add basmati rice, pour in the required amount of water and cook until one whistle. Then take it off the heat and let the pressure release naturally. Then open the pressure cooker and add salt. Mix well and masala rice is ready to serve.
