By name it may seem too awkward, it is just colocasia chips to put in simple words and in Konkani, it is called 'Manda Baluk'. Though most of us may not really love eating colocasia if it is cooked for meals, this won't dissappoint you for sure and you may not even know it is colocasia. It could be a perfect movie-time snack. This is a common Konkani snack and it can be easily made at home. Here's the recipe of 'Manda Baluk':


Ingredients

  1. Colocasia, 4 nos
  2. Salt, Accordingly
  3. Oil, Accordingly


Preparation

  • Peel the skin of the colocasia and wash well in salt water to remove the starch
  • Slice the colocasia paper-thin
  • In a small bowl mix some salt in water and keep it aside
  • Heat oil in an open vessel
  • When the oil gets heated, fry the colocasia slices in small batches, also add small tsp of salt water along
  • Fry the slices until they are slightly golden
  • Drain the excess oil
