Moong Dal Vegetable Fingers
Moong Dal or the green gram is packed with protein and low carbs, and is one of the best vegetarian super foods. Moong Dal Vegetable Fingers is a quick and easy snack recipe ideal for evening snacks.
Moong dal (Green gram): 400g
Green peas: 100g
Carrot: 1 no
Ginger (grated): Small piece
Green chili: 2 nos
Salt: To taste
Oil: For deep frying
Mint leaves: For garnishing
Soak the moong dal / green gram for 4 to 5 hours. Then grind them.
Cut the carrot, ginger, chilies, and beans to small pieces. Boil them in a pan. After the veggies are boiled allow them to cool.
Mix these veggies in the moong dal dough adding salt. Mix well.
Using a food steamer or an idli stand, steam the mixture for around 15 minutes in a medium flame. Then remove it from flame and allow it to cool.
Now prepare rectangular, finger length pieces out of this mixture and deep fry the finger chips in oil.
Garnish the finger fries with mint leaves and serve with tomato sauce or coriander chutney.
