Health bars readily available in the market may be full of unwanted sugars, additives and preservatives. Here is a recipe to make health bars at home that are actually healthy and nutritious.
Heat up a thick bottom pan and sauté the oats until it changes colour. Then add the almonds and sauté on a low heat for five minutes. Then add the raisins and mix well. Continue to sauté for two more minutes and then add the sesame seeds. Once the sesame seeds begin to crackle, add the pumpkin seeds. Once the pumpkin seeds begin to crackle, add the jaggery and ghee. Mix well until the jiggery melts and all the ingredients are combined well.
Take the mix off the flame and transfer it into a greased flat tray or butter paper and spread it evenly. Cut it into desired shape when hot and let it cool down to normal room temperature. The health bars can be consumed once they cool down. They will last for several days if kept in an airtight container or even refrigerated.
