Home made Egg Puffs

Egg puffs is a very common snack. But always bought from shops. Could it be made at home? Yes of course. If you have an oven at home and some time to spare, we have the recipe to healthy tasty egg puffs.

Ingredients

Eggs (hard-boiled) – 3 nos

Oil – 1 tsp

Onion (thinly sliced) – 2 nos

Tomato (thinly sliced) – 1 no

Green chili (crushed) – 4 nos

Ginger garlic paste – 1 tsp

Turmeric powder – ½ tsp

Garam masala – ½ tsp

Atta – 2 cup

Butter – 100 gm

Salt – To taste

Water – Accordingly

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Curry leaves – 2 stalks

Preparation

Add butter to the atta and mix well. Then add lemon juice, salt, water and knead it to a dough. Using a rolling pin, roll it to thin sheet. Spread butter over it and fold it to inside from the four sides. Keep it in fridge.

After half an hour remove this from fridge and roll it again using rolling pin. Again spread butter and fold the sides to insides and keep in fridge for one hour.

Later take it out and roll again using the rolling pin. Now cut the sheet into equal square sheets. Keep aside for half an hour.

Now heat oil in a pan and add onion slices and saute them till soft. Add sliced tomatoes to this and saute till they are soft. Lower the heat and add ginger garlic paste, green chilies and curry leaves to this. Now add the garam masala and turmeric powders and saute. Add salt, mix well and remove from heat.

Spoon the masala mix to the center of the square sheet and place one half of a hard-boiled egg on top. Fold the four corners of the square to the center on top of the egg. Repeat for each sheets.

Now bake it in preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 15 to 20 minutes. Take it out. Yummy egg puffs are ready to eat. Serve with a hot cup of tea or coffee.
