Have you tried honey momos?
Momos are a South Asian dumpling, popular across the Indian subcontinent and the Himalayan regions. Here is how to make them with a bit of a twist.
- Rice flour: 1 cup (roasted)
- Boiled water: As per requirement
- Honey: 1 cup
- Flattened rice (rice flakes): 1/2 cup
- Coconut: 1 cup (grated)
- Banana: 1 nos (finely chopped)
- Cardamom powder: 1 teaspoon
- Raisins: 1 handful
- Cashew nuts: 1 handful
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Ghee: 1 tablespoon
In a bowl, mix the flattened rice, coconut, banana, cardamom powder and raisins and mix them together with honey. Add ghee and mix again. Take the rice flour in another bowl. Pour in enough water to make a dough (consistency should be the same of chapati dough). Roll them into small balls and flatten them into palm sized rounds. Put two teaspoons of the honey mix in the middle and fold from all sides or in the desired shape. Steam them and tasty honey momos are ready.
