In a pan, heat up some oil and sauté the first six ingredients until tender. Add the chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and mix well. Then add the sliced squid. Pour in quarter cup of water and cook until the squid is tender. Once the water completely evaporates add in the coconut milk, black pepper, fennel powder and curry leaves and fry until its cooked well. Serve hot.
