Pan frying beef or chicken is great. Have you ever tried pan fried fish? If you can be careful not to let the fish break down into pieces, pan frying can make fish taste great. Here is a pan fried fish recipe that works well with any meaty variety of fish.
Fish: ½ kilograms (any meaty variety)
Onion: 2 nos (finely sliced)
Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
Green chili: 2 nos (finely sliced)
Tomato: 1 nos (finely sliced)
Chili powder: 1 tablespoon
Turmeric powder: ½ tablespoon
Black pepper powder: ½ tablespoon
Coriander powder: 1 tablespoon
Fennel powder: 1 pinch
Curry leaves: 2 leaflets
Oil: As per requirement
Salt: As per taste
Chop the fish into small pieces. Marinate the fish in half the chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt. Keep it aside for 30 minutes before deep frying in oil. In a pan, heat up some oil and fry the onions. Once the onions turn brown, add the ginger-garlic paste, green chili and curry leaves. Sauté it for a bit and then add the tomato. Once the tomato is tenderized, add the remaining coriander powder, chili powder, and black pepper powder. Once the masala mix is well cooked add the fried fish. Mix it well being careful not to break the fish pieces. Add in the fennel powder and keep sautéing for a few more minutes. Serve hot.
