Parotta is one of the favourite foods of Keralites. With a bit of effort, you can make restaurant style parotta right at home. Here is the recipe.
Ingredients
- Maida: 3 cups
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Sugar: 1 tablespoon
- Milk: ¾ cup
- Water: ½ cup
- Oil: As per requirement
Preparation
Take all the ingredients except oil in a bowl and mix well into a fine dough. Knead it for at least 15 minutes. Apply oil on top and let it rest for 4 hours. Divide the dough into 6 pieces and roll them into balls. Apply oil on each one and let them rest for 10 minutes. Roll them out thinly and slice in half vertically after leaving 1 inch of space on the top. Take both pieces together and let them rest for 15 minutes. Apply oil and roll them out. Cook on a hot grill on each side for 2-3 minutes. Once cooked, stack them together and beat them ready. Serve hot.
