Give your chicken roast a fresh twist with coriander leaves
Chicken is one of the most popular varieties of non-veg items out there. Here is a quick and easy way to prepare chicken roast with fresh coriander leaves.
- Chicken: 1 ½ kilograms
- Onion: 6 (large ones)
- Ginger: 1 large piece
- Garlic: 3 bulbs/heads
- Green chili: 5 (sliced in half)
- Coriander leaves: 1 cup (chopped)
- Chili powder: 1 ½ tablespoon
- Coriander powder: 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon: 2 sticks
- Cloves: 5 nos
- Salt: As per taste
- Oil: 1 cup
- Sugar: ½ tablespoon
- Tomato: ½ kilogram
- Turmeric powder: 1 pinch
- Juice of 1 lemon
How to prepare
Clean and cut the chicken into 10 pieces. Thinly slice the onion and tomatoes and set them aside. Grate the ginger and garlic into a fine paste. Heat up the cinnamon and cloves and pound them into a fine powder.
Heat a little bit of oil in a pan. Add the thinly sliced onions and sauté until it turns brown. Add the tomatoes and ginger-garlic paste and mix well. Add in the green chilies and cook until they soften.
Then add the chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder along with the ground cloves and cinnamon. Keep sautéing until they soften. The add the chicken pieces and salt and cook until the meat tender. Do not add water.
Once the chicken is cooked, add the chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Then add the lemon juice and sugar. Mix thoroughly and take it off the heat.
Delicious chicken roast with coriander leaves is ready.
