From nurse to cookies-specialist: Sreelekha’s cookies turn a star in Onam market
Sreelekha, a native of Adatt in Thrissur is all set to treat Thrissurites with yummy cookies. A nurse by profession, Sreelekha resigned her job and took up her passion for cooking, especially the making of sweet cookies.
Sreelekha’s cookies have great demand in the Onam special stalls opened at Thrissur collectorate.
“Cookies are sold quickly at the stall. I never add any additives or colours to add taste to the cookies,” said Sreelekha.
Sesame seeds, dates, nuts, carrot, masala, ginger and chilli are used to make cookies.
“I started making cookies when my kids hesitated to eat nuts and sesame seeds. So, I made a delicious snack out of it to make them have it without any objection. When I continued the cookies making, I found it quite interesting and started a small manufacturing unit at home,” Sreelekha detailed the incident which made her a cookies-specialist.
Sreelekha has been making cookies for sale since 3 years. She also bakes cakes and print photos on it as per demand.
