You don’t need chicken or mutton to prepare the famous 65. Here is how you can make this iconic dish with tender jackfruit.
- Tender jackfruit: 3 cups (half cooked with salt and crushed)
- Kashmiri chilli: 2 teaspoons
- Ginger: 1 inch piece
- Garlic: 10 cloves
- Fennel seeds: 1 teaspoon
- Chicken masala: 1 tablespoon
- Garam masala: 1 teaspoon
- Corn flour: 1 cup
- Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
- Curry leaves: As per requirement
- Oil: As per requirement
- Salt: As per taste
Grind the Kashmiri chilli, ginger, garlic, fennel seeds, chicken masala, garama masala and corn flour into a fine paste. Add lemon juice to it and keep it in a bowl. Prepare the tender jackfruit into patties or shape them like cutlets. Heat up oil in a pan. Dip the tender jackfruit patties in the masala mix and fry them. Add curry leaves with each batch. Serve hot.
