Decades of experience lends unique flavour to Sankar Swamy's 'payasam'
Kottayam: Thirunakkara Puthenadam Sankar Swamy (S. Sankar) and brothers have over 60 years of experience in the field of cooking. This experience adds an extra flavour to the ‘payasam’ prepared by them. The art of cooking started in their family from the time of their father,Subramanya Swamy (Mani Swamy).
‘Ada Pradhaman’, ‘Palada’, ‘Parippu (Dal) Pradhaman’ and ‘Palpayasam’ have a lot of takers during Onam festival. 'Palpayasm' is prepared in the same taste as that of the famous ‘Ambalappuzha palpayasam’. The cooking is done collectively by Sankar Swamy and his brothers Subramanian and Padmanabhan.
Sankar’s wife, Girija and their children Arun Sankar and Ajay Sankar also help the brothers. The catering unit of Sankar Swamy and brothers is the most prominent of all in Thirunakkara.
Sankar Swamy also said that the pandemic has not influenced the sale of ‘payasam’ in any way.
