The name may act as a deterrent but chilli-mushroom pasta is pretty easy to prepare. With mushrooms, pasta and capsicum, it’s a classy dish for vegetarians.

Pasta: 250 grams

Mushroom: 150 grams (finely sliced)

Capsicum: 1 nos (large, finely sliced))

Onion: 2 nos (finely sliced)

Ginger and garlic: 2 tablespoons (finely chopped)

Green chilli: 2 nos (finely sliced)

Dried red chilli: 1 teaspoon (crushed)

Black pepper powder: 1 teaspoon

Soy sauce: 1 teaspoon

Tomato ketchup: 2 teaspoon

Chilli sauce: 1 teaspoon

Salt: As per taste

Oil: As per requirement

How to prepare

Cook the pasta with salt and keep it aside. In a pan, heat up some oil and saute the ginger, garlic and green chillies for a few minutes. Then add the onion. Once the onions soften add the capsicum and mushrooms. Once the water from the mushrooms start to evaporate, add in all the spices and mix thoroughly. Then add the sauces and incorporate well. Then add the cooked pasta and mix well. Keep sauteing in a high heat for 3-5 minutes before taking it off the heat. Serve hot.
