Palakkad: Muhammad Asif KP, a native of Mannarkkad here, has entered Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records by making portraits with body parts.
The young artist has drawn 6 portraits of actor Tovino Thomas using hands, mouth, hair and legs at a time. He has also drawn 7 portraits of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan by using hands, legs, nose, hair and mouth. He entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records with these works.
Interestingly, he has drawn different characters of the actors in various films.
Asif has also set two records in the India Book of Records under two categories. The first one is for making portraits with maximum body parts and the other one is for the biggest portrait made with a burning log of wood.
“Portraits of Hrithik Roshan and Tovino Thomas won my first record in the India Book of Records. I won the title by making different portraits with maximum body parts. In September, I have drawn a portrait of actor Nivin Pauly with a burning log of wood. This one was selected for the second record in India Book of Records,” explained Asif.
“I am really happy that I won three records at the age of 20. Though the record is confirmed, Rs 11800 should be paid for getting the certificate and medal of Asia Book of Records. Some sponsors had helped me to clear the payment for the certificate and medal of India Book of Records,” said Asif.
Asif has not applied for the certificate and medal of the second record in the India Book of Records due to financial issues.
“I’m a student and my father is a farmer. So I can’t raise the money for obtaining the certificate and medal. Five people sponsored the fund to get the first certificate and medal. If I get a sponsor, I will apply for the certificate and medal of Asia Book of Records,” said the artist.
Asif has impressed many stars in Mollywood by making their portraits using various body parts simultaneously. Actors Jayasurya, Tovino Thomas, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and many others contacted and congratulated him after he shared his works on social media.
The young artist turned into a social media star after actor Jayasurya shared his video lauding the skills. The actor also took to his social media pages and shared a video of Asif in which he was seen sketching five different portraits of Jayasurya’s movie characters.
“Jayettan (actor Jayasurya) supported me a lot in the initial phase of my work,” Asif opened up expressing his gratitude to Jayasurya.
