Meenmutti waterfalls
Vaduvanchal: By citing security issues, the second highest waterfall in Kerala has been kept away from the view of the tourists for the last 7 years. With the recent developments in the tourism sector of Kerala, the natives hope the Meenmutty waterfalls will also be opened soon.
As tourism was the major source of income in Vaduvanchal, their economy has been badly affected since the closure of Meenmutty. The shops opened only to target the tourists, over fifty resorts and homestays were also struck by the shutdown. Though many officials visited the location, demand for opening the tourist spot was not addressed.
Along with Soochipara and Kanthanpara, Meenmutty is also a major contributor to the Chaliyar river. Once Meenmutty was always crowded by visitors but at the same time it is known to be one of the unsafe tourist destinations.
