Kunchithanni: With the reopening of tourist destinations, a large number of visitors are making their way to Kerala’s most popular winter destination Munnar. However, the trash they leave behind, including liquor bottles, are creating a huge headache to the locals and authorities here.

Heaps of liquor bottles have been formed on the sides of the national highway near Randam Mile here. The throwing of these bottles in tea estates and roadsides mostly affect the residents here.

The glass bottles thrown out from vehicles break into pieces injuring pedestrians.

Locals have demanded authorities to take action against the irresponsible behavior of the visitors. However, there has been no decrease in the number of bottles accumulating here.
