Kannur: ‘Thirunettikallu’ in Josegiri of Kannur’s eastern hill ranges is emerging as a well-cherished spot of the travellers.

The site is located at 2,300 feet above sea level. Flowers like ‘Athirani’ (Melastoma Malabathricum) and medicinal herbs adorn the golden meadows of Thirunettikallu. A huge rolling stone trapped between the boulders standing face to face along with the mist that envelops the entire hill are the major attractions here. A ladder has been placed to reach the top of the massive rock. The visitors can see the cross placed by the believers who trekked Thirunettikallu after the Kurisumala pilgrimage.

People get glimpses of the towns in Kannur and Kasaragod, villages in hill ranges, forests of Karnataka and Bhagamandala of Kodagu from the hilltop. The 19 acres of forest land of Thirunettikallu is situated in Cherupuzha and Udayagiri panchayats.

The visitors have started to flock the hill recently and facilities including homestay, food, and tent house are available here. By considering the tourism potential of Thirunettikallu, Cherupuzha and Udayagiri panchayats have initiated to roll out more transport aids and other facilities in the locality.

How to reach
