KSRTC to begin tour packages to Munnar

Malappuram is the district from where more people pay visits to Munnar, hence the first package was introduced there.

Munnar: In a first, KSRTC plans to open tour packages. The first trip is from Malappuram depot to Munnar for travel lovers. The trips are scheduled every Saturday at 1 pm which will reach Munnar by 7.30 pm. Travellers can sleep on the sleeper couch of the KSRTC depot during night. On Sunday, the travellers will be taken for sightseeing in the bus of KSRTC and return to Malappuram by 6 pm.

Depot in-charge Savy George said that the services will begin as soon as the official confirmation regarding the package rate from KSRTC MD is received. The aim of KSRTC is to attract people to Munnar on economical tour packages and raise non-ticket incomes.

Malappuram is the district from where more people pay visits to Munnar, hence the first package was introduced from there. If the package becomes successful, the same will be extended to other districts as well.

Currently, there is a stay provided in KSRTC bus and sightseeing in Kanthallur and top station for Rs 100. As soon as the rush begins, KSRTC is in the wake of starting sightseeing services to Anakulam and Mankulam.
