Kochi: A group of 20 individuals from Kozhikode on Monday was denied cruise trip organised by state run Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation (KSINC) over ‘last-minute booking’.

Families of Arjun Pithambaran and Pramod, having children and women, are the ones which faced the baffling experience. The group was not able to enjoy the trip despite pre-booking it on Sunday late night. Over the matter, the group has lodged a complaint with authorities concerned.

The group waiting for the cruise trip

The group had booked for KSINC’s Sagararani cruise trip through online. Rs 9,000 was paid for the two-hour-long trip starting at 9 AM. They left Kozhikode in the wee hours of Monday and reached Ernakulam by morning.

They freshened up in a hotel and reached the KSINC’s office in Marine Drive here at 8:30 AM. However, official there maintained that they are not aware about the trip. Though the group members tried contacting officials concerned, there was no response.

Arjun and Pramod alleged that some even said they are not aware of the trip scheduled. The group waited till 10:45 AM and left after sending the complaints to with district collector and minister concerned.

Meanwhile, officials part of organising the trip maintained that the group booked the trip at 11:50 PM and arranging the boat and readying food items for the trip on the next day was practically impossible.
