View of Paithalmala from Kuttipullu
Naduvil: Snow has started to fall in the meadows of Kuttipullu. This location is turning out to be a favourite tourist spot of Kannur after Paithalmala and Palakkayam Thattu. A lot of visitors have been to reaching here by trekking or in vehicles. The inaccessible western slopes of the Paithalamala are visible from the heights of Kuttipullu.
The shola forests, green meadows and the shallow braided streams entice the travellers to the top of Kuttipullu. Along with this, the whistling gusty winds that whisper to the grasses of the hills is a unique sight here. The grasses are lush green even in the summer and they will be blanketed by mist in the monsoon and winter.
The travellers find the journey through the narrow red sand path also interesting. There is jeep service to reach Kuttipullu which is located in between Palakkayam Thattu and Paithalmala at the Kanakakunnu in Naduvil panchayat. One can reach here after passing through Kudiyanmala, Pathanpara and Mailampetti. It is situated at 3 km from Noolittamala in Pathanpara- Kudiyanmala road and 45 km from Taliparamba.
