Assam: Ace actor Mohanlal is on a sacred trip, far away from the rush of his film schedules. He had visited the renowned Kamakhya temple on the majestic Nilacal hills in Assam.
In a Facebook post, Mohanlal noted that the wish to visit the Kamakhya temple sprang up on the day he heard about it. “Desires create opportunities. However, often desires may not be enough to transpire many events. Many things that could be told and untold have to come up together for certain incidents to happen. The journey to Kamakhya is one among them,” wrote Mohanlal.
Kamakhya is the cradle of India’s tantric traditions. Mohanlal revealed that he had a keen interest in tantric beliefs from a very early age.
The primary worship of Kamakhya temple is ‘yoni’ carved on a natural stone. “Yoni refers to the place from where we all emerge. It is an innate nature of all to return to the source. This itself has been the first reason for a trip to this place,” read Mohanlal’s post.
Through the Facebook post, the actor pondered over the history and myths associated with the Kamakhya temple and introduced the tales to readers. After his temple visit, Mohanlal is now on a river trip over the Brahmaputra river with his friend R Ramanand.
