Mattancherry: The luxury train ‘Golden Chariot’, which is an opulent star in the tourism sector of the nation, arrived in Kerala on Thursday.

Golden Chariot reached Kerala as part of the tourism package ‘Jewels of South’ comprising Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The package will cover 6 nights and 7 days.

With extravagant amenities, the train will offer an experience similar to a luxury hotel for passengers. Two restaurants, facilities to exercise and entertainment, an ayurvedic spa, and bars have been set up on the train. Both Indian and exotic dishes will be available in the restaurants. Sizeable windows are placed to enjoy the outside sights.

Golden Chariot has 43 fully air-conditioned cabins, along with separate cabins for differently-abled persons.

After halting at different stations in Kerala, buses were arranged for the passengers to visit Fort Kochi, Mattancherry, and Kumarakom.

Railways had declared the tour package earlier, focusing especially on foreign travellers, who arrive in India.
