Manneera: With the rise in water level in Kallar river, long distance coracle rides has started at Adavi eco-tourism site. The coracle rides in round bamboo rafts were available only for a short distance during summer season. However, the rise in water level due to the heavy rains have urged the officials to roll out long distance bowl boat services.

The long distance coracle ride beginning from Adavi, passes through Pandiyankadavu and Mundommoozhi will end at Peruvali. A coracle ride will cost Rs 900 and a maximum of four persons are allowed to travel in a single ride. 27 new bamboo rafts have been bought from Hogenakkal for this.
The forest conservation committee members will be paddling the rafts. The coracle rides will be available from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm everyday. The forest department is availing a considerable revenue through the coracle rafting which falls under the eco-tourism project.
