Ernakulam is awaiting the tourists by opening extensive scopes for tourism. The District Tourism Promotion Council is all set to welcome travellers to explore the beauty of Ernakulam in this festive season. The tourism council gives more attention to those locations easily accessible to the visitors who are going to flock here during the holidays of Vishu, Easter and Ramadan.
The children’s park here would be a better place to relax for the families who reach with their children. Along with several rides, the authority has also set up pedal boating facilities here. The visitors can enjoy pedal boating from 11 am to 6 pm every day.
The DTPC has also introduced many packages for the tourist who prefer to spend time relishing the serenity of villages, far away from the buzzing city life. Water sports facilities at Munambam, tourist packages in Kumbalangi, Bhoothathankettu and Ezhattumugham are some of them.
‘Village Visit’ package at Kumbalangi offers to experience the alluring beauty of the village and backwaters, traditional food varieties and boating. Rs 2000 is charged for a single traveller. The package becomes more attractive as a group of two to three visitors have to pay only Rs 1000 per person while Rs 800 is charged for a visitor in a group of five to nine members. The fee is Rs 750 per traveller for a group with more than 10 people.
Another package with boating and farm visit cost Rs 900. The Sunset Cruise package during the evening is one of the exciting tour packages available in the district. It costs Rs 1,750 per person. The water sports in Munambam package opens a magical water world with boogie board, kayaking, quad bike, banana ride, speed boat, catamaran ride, lay low ride, bumper ride, jet ski ride, scuba diving and windsurfing.
The tourist packages at Ezhattumugham are for hill and forest lovers. Apart from the sights of the dam, park and boating services are also waiting for the travellers at Bhoothathankettu. Malayattoor Manappattu Chira will be ideal for those who prefer to spend a pleasant evening with family and friends while Kurumala viewpoint is for adventure lovers.
Services of Sagar Rani and Nefertiti cruise boats of Kerala Shipping and Inland Navigation Corporation bestow the best holidays for the visitors. The memorials under the archaeological department will be an enlightening experience for students and those who are curious to learn history.
